Defends Secretary Lloyd Austin’s disappearance act earlier this month was due to complications from a recent prostate cancer surgery, Walter Reed Medical Center has revealed.
Austin underwent a minimally invasive surgical procedure called a prostatectomy to treat and cure prostate cancer on December 22nd of last year. Less than two weeks later, he was re-admitted with complications including nausea, pain, and more.
President Biden was not alerted.
Per Walter Reed, Secretary Austin recovered uneventfully from his surgery and he was returned the following morning. His prostate cancer was detected early and his prognosis is “excellent,” the hospital said.
