BREAKING: Trump Administration Unveils New Sanctions on Iran Following Attack on US Troops

posted by Hannity Staff - 1.10.20

The Trump administration unveiled new sanctions against the Islamic Regime in Iran Friday; announcing the crackdown after leaders in Tehran launched a series of missile attacks against US troops in Iraq.

“The Trump administration announced new sanctions on Iran Friday targeting the country’s metals sector and several of its government leaders following Tehran’s missile attacks on Iraqi bases housing U.S. troops earlier this week,” reports The Hill.

“We are announcing additional sanctions on the Iranian regime as a result of the attack on U.S. and allied troops,” Mnuchin said. “Today’s sanctions are part of our commitment to stop the Iranian regime’s global terrorist activities.”

“I think we have 100 percent confidence and we are consistent in our view that the economic sanctions are working,” Mnuchin said. “That if we didn’t have these sanctions in place, literally Iran would have tens of billions of dollars. They would be using that for terrorist activities throughout the region and to enable them to do more bad things.”

AMERICA RESPONDS: US Airstrike Kills Iranian General, Other Military Officials at Baghdad Airport

posted by Hannity Staff - 1.03.20

The United States launched an airstrike Thursday evening that resulted in the death of an Iranian general and other military officials at Baghdad International Airport in Iraq, according to Fox News.

“The Pentagon confirmed Thursday evening that Trump had ordered the attack that killed Soleimani and other military officials at Baghdad International Airport in Iraq. Iran’s top ‘shadow commander’ was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American and coalition service members and the wounding of thousands more, the State Department said,” reports Fox.

“I think the Iranian leadership understands President Trump will take action. … We made very clear that these responses would be swift and decisive. We have now demonstrated that. I hope the Iranian leadership will see that and see American resolve and that their decision will be to de-escalate and take actions consistent with what normal nations do. In the event that they do not and they go in the other direction, I know that President Trump and the entire United States government is prepared to respond appropriately,” said Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

“He’s got hundreds of American lives and blood on his hands. What was sitting before us was his travels throughout the region, his efforts to make a significant strike against Americans. There would have been many Muslims killed as well, Iraqis and people in other countries. It was a strike that was aimed at disrupting that plot, disrupting further aggression and we hope, setting the conditions for de-escalation as well,” he added.

ANOTHER SCHIFF SHOW? Adam Schiff Calls for Congressional Hearings Into Trump’s Iraq Airstrike

posted by Hannity Staff - 1.06.20

Congressman Adam Schiff called for more hearings on Capitol Hill Monday regarding President Trump’s military action against a top Iranian General; saying the White House has put the United States “on a path to war.”

“The president has put us on a path where we may be at war with Iran. That requires the Congress to fully engage,” Schiff told the Washington Post.

“I’m certainly not satisfied that the intelligence supports the conclusion that the killing of Soleimani was going to either prevent attacks on the United States or reduce the risk to American lives,” Schiff told the Post.

“I don’t think the intelligence was of the kind of character that would lead to a uniform recommendation that Soleimani should be killed,” Schiff added. “I think that was an impulsive judgment made by the president.”
