House Democrats -including Speaker Nancy Pelosi- are poised to introduce a new resolution this week that will “confront” Rep. Ilhan Omar’s recent anti-Israeli comments and fiery rhetoric against the Jewish State.
“Speaker Nancy Pelosi and top Democrats will take floor action Wednesday in response to controversial remarks by Rep. Ilhan Omar about Israel, the second such rebuke of the freshman Democrat from party leaders in recent weeks,” reports Politico.
“Pelosi and other senior Democrats are drafting a resolution to address the controversy, which ballooned over the weekend following a public clash between Omar and senior Jewish lawmakers,” adds the article.
Omar made national headlines over the weekend after refusing to “pledge allegiance” to a foreign country; refusing to back-down from her previous comments regarding the “occupation” of Palestine.

OMAR ERUPTS AGAIN: Omar Slams 'Occupation' of Palestine, Says She Won’t ‘Pledge Support’ to Israel
Embattled Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar raised eyebrows -yet again- across the country over the weekend; posting a series of tweets where she refused to “pledge her support” to Israel and blasted the “occupation” of Palestine.
“I am told everyday that I am anti-American if I am not pro-Israel. I find that to be problematic and I am not alone. I just happen to be willing to speak up on it and open myself to attacks,” she posted on social media.
“I should not be expected to have allegiance/pledge support to a foreign country in order to serve my country in Congress or serve on committee. The people of the 5th elected me to serve their interest. I am sure we agree on that!” she added.
Being opposed to Netanyahu and the occupation is not the same as being anti-Semitic. I am grateful to the many Jewish allies who have spoken out and said the same.

Our democracy is built on debate, Congresswoman! I should not be expected to have allegiance/pledge support to a foreign country in order to serve my country in Congress or serve on committee. The people of the 5th elected me to serve their interest. I am sure we agree on that! https://t.co/gglAS4FVJW

New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind slammed Omar’s anti-Israeli rhetoric Sunday; saying “On this week’s episode, she’ll talk about Jewish power, money and dual loyalty!”
OMAR ERUPTS: Ilhan Omar Defends Venezuela's Socialist Dictator, Says ‘Regime Change’ Illegal
Embattled Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar continued to raise eyebrows in Washington, DC this week; bizarrely defending Venezuela’s brutal socialist dictator and telling US lawmakers “regime change” is against international law.
“Only Congress can approve military action in Venezuela. The Trump administration must respect the checks and balances provided by the constitution. For too long and in too many places, we have ceded our Constitutional authority over foreign intervention,” she tweeted.
“We must support the Venezuelan people’s right to self-determination and not make a bad situation worse,” she added.

Opposition to intervention ≠ support for a country’s leader.

Omar made national headlines just week ago after posting multiple anti-Semitic, anti-Israeli rants on social media; suggesting American lawmakers support the Jewish State because of massive campaign contributions.
