Former Congressman Beto O’Rourke predicted Tuesday he can turn the Lone Star State blue in 2020 should he win the Democratic nomination; saying he’s proven that he “knows how to campaign” in Texas despite losing to Sen. Ted Cruz in the midterm elections.
O’Rourke was speaking with supporters in New Hampshire Tuesday evening when he was asked “Do you think you can win Texas if you become the nominee?”

“Yes, I think we can win Texas,” O’Rourke fired-back. “I think we’ve proven that we know how to campaign. … We’ve listened to the stories our fellow Texans have told us. We’ve incorporated it in the way that we campaign and the way in which I wish to serve.”
ARMAGEDDON AGAIN: Beto Says US Has ‘12 Years’ Before Climate Apocalypse, Predicts End of ‘Houston’
Beto O’Rourke echoed the climate-change chorus of fellow Democrats Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Thursday; telling a crowd of supporters the US has “no more than 12 years” before a global apocalypse.
O’Rourke was speaking at an Iowa coffeeshop hours after announcing his 2020 presidential campaign when he issued the dire prediction.
"This is our final chance. The scientists are unanimous that we have no more than 12 years to take incredibly bold action on this crisis. My gratitude for the young people who have stepped up to offer such a bold proposal." pic.twitter.com/P3O6yI0nG6

“This is our final chance. The scientists are unanimous that we have no more than 12 years to take incredibly bold action on this crisis. My gratitude for the young people who have stepped up to offer such a bold proposal,” said Beto.
“Ultimately, [these storms] will compromise the ability to live in a city like Houston, Texas,” he added.
BETO GOES BERSERK: O’Rourke Calls for the REMOVAL of El Paso Border Wall
Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke called for the removal of El Paso’s critical border wall this week; saying the physical barrier “has not in any way” made the US “safer” and costs “tens of billions of dollars.”
Beto O'Rourke when asked, since Rep. @DanCrenshawTX asked on Twitter, if he would tear down the walls that are already in place: Yes and I think a referendum to do so would pass. pic.twitter.com/ENZuYvdqEa

“Would you -if you could- take the wall down now? Here?” asked MSNBC’s Chris Hayes.
“Yes, Absolutely. I’d take the wall down,” said Beto.
“Here’s what we know… After the Secure Fence Act we built 600 miles of wall and fencing on a 2,000 mile border. What that has done has not in any way made us safer. It cost us tens of billions of dollars to build and to maintain,” he added.
