CNN’s Abby Phillip attempted to slap President Trump with a new nickname during Tuesday night’s NewsNight — and it failed miserably.
Phillip tried to compare Trump to comics’ most famous caped crusader.
“Let’s get right to what America is talking about,” she began. “Donald Trump makes himself Batman and the nation’s capital is Gotham City. The President of the United States has declared himself Crime Fighter in Chief, and he’s taking over Washington’s police force. It is a move that the D.C. Mayor is calling ‘unsettling and unprecedented.’”
“That makes President Trump sound SUPER COOL! Don’t think that was Abby’s intention at all,” former Ted Cruz staffer Steve Guest said on X.

Phillip’s Batman reference also launched hundreds of AI-generated pictures of President Trump as the Gotham Knight.
