Donna Brazile’s upcoming memoir continues to rock liberal circles inside the DC beltway, with new excerpts showing the former interim DNC chief trashing Debbie Wasserman Schultz over her lavish “perks” while the Democratic party was flat-out broke.
Brazile unloaded on her predecessor in her new book, “Hacks,” saying Schultz enjoyed outrageous perks while serving as head of the Democratic National Committee, most of which were designed to keep Schultz “fat and happy” as the party suffered tremendous financial losses.
“Debbie had a chief of staff and a body woman. She also had media consultants and a fund-raising consultant. I was free to hire my own consultants, two or three if I liked, and bring in a new communications team. All of that would go on the DNC payroll,” she writes.
Brazile eventually notified party officials that she would sell-off the business SUV and refused to hire extra consultants, adding “God knows I didn’t need a body woman.”
“This was the way to keep the chair fat and happy: Give her a huge staff and lots of perks and don’t ask her to do anything,” she writes.
