A massive wave of May Day protests is sweeping across the United States — and a new report is putting a spotlight on who is behind it.
Roughly 600 groups are mobilizing for demonstrations nationwide, encouraging Americans to skip work, school, and shopping as part of International Workers’ Day, long associated with labor activism and socialist movements.
A Fox News Digital investigation describes a sprawling “red-blue” network — with an estimated $2 billion in combined annual revenue — coordinating some 3,000 events across the country.
At the center of the mobilization are organizations tied to socialist and far-left ideologies, including chapters of the Democratic Socialists of America and activist groups like the ANSWER Coalition, Code Pink, and the Party for Socialism and Liberation.
Some of these groups have been linked in past reporting to networks funded by Neville Roy Singham, an American-born businessman based in Shanghai, though the extent and nature of those ties remain a subject of debate.
Other openly communist organizations are also participating.
The Communist Party USA has called on workers to “rise against MAGA,” while the Revolutionary Communist Party and Maoist Communist Union have issued calls to challenge what they describe as a “capitalist-imperialist system.”
The protests are not limited to fringe groups.
Mainstream progressive organizations — including Indivisible, MoveOn, and the American Federation of Teachers — are also promoting or participating in events.
In some cases, local and state Democratic Party organizations are involved in organizing or amplifying rallies, including efforts tied to the California Democratic Party.
One coalition, “May Day Strong,” is coordinating events across multiple states with a unified message: “No Work, No School, No Shopping.”
Local Democratic groups in states like Ohio, North Carolina, and Wisconsin are listed among organizers for affiliated events, underscoring the breadth of the mobilization.
Meanwhile, grassroots organizing is underway on the ground.
Local chapters of the Party for Socialism and Liberation have hosted “Art Build” events in cities like Washington, D.C., and Chicago, where activists prepared protest materials at so-called “Liberation Centers” ahead of demonstrations.
These people will never stop and we need to cut the Chain of Command out, that being the money sent and used!
