President Donald Trump is demanding an immediate apology from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer after comments about federal immigration agents ignited a political firestorm.
The clash erupted after Schumer said on the Senate floor that “nobody respects Border Patrol or ICE,” a line Republicans quickly seized on.
Trump responded within hours, blasting the remark in a post on TRUTH Social.
“Wow! Cryin’ Chuck Schumer just said… that ‘NOBODY RESPECTS BORDER PATROL OR ICE,’” Trump wrote.
The president called the statement “one of the most egregious, incorrect, unpatriotic, and dangerous” comments he has heard from a politician.
“HE MUST IMMEDIATELY APOLOGIZE… AND I MEAN NOW!” Trump added.
The exchange lands in the middle of a broader fight over immigration funding, as Republicans push to increase resources for ICE and Border Patrol while Democrats argue for policy changes alongside any new funding.
🚨 HOLY CRAP! President Trump just came to the FULL DEFENSE of ICE and Border Patrol, TORCHING Chuck Schumer for saying “nobody in our country respects them”
You’re a CLOWN, @ChuckSchumer.
