President Trump just turned up the heat on Tehran.
“A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will,” Trump wrote Tuesday morning.
With “Complete and Total Regime Change,” perhaps “something revolutionarily wonderful can happen,” he added.
The warning came as Trump’s 8 p.m. ET Tuesday deadline for Iran drew closer.
Reuters reports that reopening the Strait of Hormuz is central to the demand, with Trump tying any broader deal to restoring traffic through the strategic waterway after Iran’s blockade rattled global energy markets and pushed the standoff toward a dangerous new phase.
Meanwhile, the Israelis have started targeting the Iranian rail system.

I think it's safe to say — absolutely none of these threats were bluffing on behalf of President Trump.
