Four top Minnesota officials will testify Thursday before the Senate Homeland Security Committee amid intense scrutiny of the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown in Minneapolis. The first panel features AG Keith Ellison, Rep. Tom Emmer, state Rep. Harry Niska, and Corrections Commissioner Paul Schnell, followed by federal agency leaders Todd Lyons (ICE), Rodney Scott (CBP), and Joseph Edlow (USCIS).
Homeland Security Committee Chairman Rand Paul told CBS News that senators “want to hear both sides on this,” citing a loss of “public trust in ICE” and questions about cooperation between federal and local leaders.
