While speaking with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo on Thursday, President Trump provided more detail on the framework of his deal to establish a stronger U.S. presence in Greenland — a move he says is necessary to ensure national security and American prosperity.
“We’re talking about it, it’s really being negotiated now, the details of it, but essentially it’s total access,” Trump said. “There’s no end, there’s no time limit.”
“The details are being negotiated now — it will be very good,” Trump said, confirming that he won’t be “paying anything” for it, other than the cost of the Golden Dome.
“Everything comes over Greenland. If the bad guys start shooting, it comes over Greenland,” Trump told Bartiromo. “It’s pretty invaluable. It’s amazing.”
Pressed about whether the framework means the US will ultimately obtain Greenland, Trump responded: “I don’t know if I can say that. But it could be. It’s possible. Anything is possible.”
