A man was arrested late Tuesday after crashing his car into a security barrier outside the White House, authorities said.
According to the U.S. Secret Service, the vehicle struck the gate at a White House entrance around 10:37 p.m.
The driver was immediately taken into custody by members of the Secret Service’s uniformed division.
Officials said investigators searched the vehicle and determined it was safe.
Authorities have not yet released the driver’s identity or any information about a possible motive.
