During Thursday night’s Hannity, Fox News host Sean Hannity blasted the left for its hypocritical reaction to ABC pulling Jimmy Kimmel off the air.
Kimmel’s show was pulled after the late-night host’s comments about Charlie Kirk’s assassin Tyler Robinson being “MAGA” — a flat-out lie.
“The decision was made by ABC — the same ABC that fired the top-rated Rosanne Barr over a tweet and popular top-rated radio host Bob Graham for a comment he made on the air … But after spending years of pushing cancel culture, the left’s hypocrisy was on full display over Kimmel’s suspension as they predictably went into full meltdown mode,” Hannity said.
Everyone from Jen Psaki to Barack Obama expressed shock and outrage over Kimmel’s ousting. But the truth is, the late-night host’s ratings were in the toilet — and had been for a long time.
“If Jimmy Kimmel had a massive audience, if he was successful, he probably wouldn’t be in the position he’s in right now,” Hannity said. “But his show was failing — and failing spectacularly! At one point, he had pretty good ratings, but he ran it straight into the ground. He’s lost almost a total of one million viewers from just ten years ago. He lost a whopping 72% of younger viewers age 25-54 … a very key category.”
“When ratings go that low, and you lose 72% of your target audience, guess what else dries up right after that? It’s called revenue. It’s revenue that ABC/Disney were hoping they could rely on, and his vile comments this week are just the straw that broke the camel’s back,” Hannity added.
In the end, it was ABC. Bob Iger is in charge — not Donald Trump.
