Fox Business host Larry Kudlow stopped by Hannity Tuesday night to offer his analysis on President Trump’s economy and the truth about so-called “tariff inflation.”
“You have all these lefty media types trying to hit Trump over the head with something called ‘tariff inflation’ and then they’re covering up for all the mistakes and mismanagement of Jerome Powell at the Fed,” Kudlow said.
“Trump’s been president for five months. Since January, the Consumer Price Index has been up 1.8% at an annual rate — that is a terrific number. Joe Biden, cumulatively, had 20% when he was president. So why is the Fed target rate at 4 1/2, which is over twice the actual inflation rate? It should come down — the president is absolutely right.”
Next, Kudlow dug into “tariff inflation.”
“Here’s what no one’s reporting: used cars down. New cars down. Airline fares down. Eggs down. Snacks down. Hotel and motel prices down. Milk down. Butter down. Cereals down. There’s no tariff inflation here,” Kudlow said.
