White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called Democrats’ reaction to the violence in Los Angeles “shameful” during Wednesday’s White House press briefing.

Leavitt blasted Governor Gavin Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass for failing to condemn the violent protesters and allowing violent, out-of-control mobs to destroy parts of the city.

“What we have seen transpire in Los Angeles, California in recent days is shameful,” Leavitt said. “Left-wing radicals waving foreign flags viciously attacked ICE agents… These attacks were aimed not just at law enforcement, but at American culture and society itself… President Trump will never allow mob rule to prevail in America.”

“The most basic duty of government is to preserve law and order, and this administration embraces that sacred responsibility. Democrats like Governor Gavin Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass failed to meet their sworn obligation to their citizens,” Leavitt said.

“That’s why President Donald Trump deployed the National Guard and mobilized Marines to end the chaos and restore law and order,” Leavitt continued, confirming that ICE’s efforts will continue.

Leavitt also highlighted some of the violent criminals taken off the streets thanks to ICE, including murderers, child molesters, and more.

“Sanctuary cities and states will no longer be allowed to shield illegal criminals from deportation,” Leavitt said. “Just take a look at some of the illegal monsters who were taken off the streets in recent days.”
