Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy cast doubt Thursday on whether former press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre can reconcile her years of misleading statements about President Biden by writing a tell-all book.
Jean-Pierre revealed her upcoming book this week, Independent, set for release in October, and claimed she is cutting ties with the Democratic Party over its “betrayal” of Biden.
But as she attempts a public rebrand, Doocy told Fox & Friends her record of dishonesty will be hard to outrun.
“The thing about this book is that she, towards the end, before Biden dropped out [and] after Biden dropped out, she would say that legitimate questions were misinformation and I told her once, ‘you can’t just call something that you don’t like misinformation,’” Doocy said. “And so I don’t know how she’s going to square being the public face of saying things that were not true about the president and about policies. I don’t know how she’s just going to come out and say, ‘you know what? Just because I swore on camera that things were okay, actually here’s what was really going on.’”
