Wait, what?!
During a recent sitdown interview with Fox 11, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said there will be an investigation into why she was permitted to take a trip to Ghana when weather forecasts predicted dangerous winds that would lead to the deadly fires.
“We need to look at everything about the preparation and all of that for the fires… I think when we evaluate that, we will find that although there were warnings, that I frankly wasn’t aware of…” Bass told Fox 11 before noting the city’s preparation “wasn’t what it typically is.”
“That level of preparation didn’t happen,” she added, blaming everyone but herself. “If it had, I wouldn’t have even gone to San Diego, let alone leave the country.”
“From the city, from the county, that level of preparation didn’t happen. So it didn’t reach that level to me, to say, something terrible could happen and maybe you shouldn’t have gone on the trip,” she continued.
Bass was blasted on X for seemingly taking no responsibility for her actions and spinning a narrative where she was the victim of someone else’s incompetence.
“LA Mayor Karen Bass says she’s really just a victim for being allowed to travel to Ghana when forecasts predicted massive Santa Ana winds that led to catastrophic fires. She says there will be an investigation as to why she was victimized. Unreal spin,” Charlie Kirk said on X.

“Investigating someone else for something you did is wild,” said Collin Rugg.

“What the hell. Karen Bass @MayorOfLA just confessed that she is completely detached from her own job, that she just does what she’s told (by the DNC, we suppose), and that she has no thoughts of her own. Nonetheless, Karen Bass is wholly responsible for the lack of fire preparation of LA last month. That’s the job,” posted actress Justine Bateman.

“While Los Angeles burned, LA Mayor Karen Bass was out of the country. Now, she’s claiming she’s investigating why no one stopped her from leaving. We have an LA Mayor’s Office employee ON TAPE admitting why Bass fled Los Angeles. The truth is coming. Stay tuned,” said reporter James O’Keefe.

Will Bass ever take responsibility for her actions?
