VEEP DIVE: Team Trump Sends Out Vetting Paperwork to Vice President Hopefuls, Here's the List

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.06.24

According to reports from multiple media outlets, the Trump campaign sent vetting paperwork to a short list of possible Vice Presidents to serve as Trump’s running mate.

Sens. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), JD Vance (R-Ohio) and Tim Scott (R-SC) have all recently exchanged varying degrees of vetting documents with Trump’s campaign, a source familiar told The New York Post Wednesday.

Reps. Byron Donalds (R-FL) and Elise Stefanik (R-NY), North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, and former Trump administration Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson have done the same, the source said.

The vetting process has been in process for nearly a month. The Trump campaign says that no decisions have been made yet.

“Anyone claiming to know who or when President Trump will choose his VP is lying, unless the person is named Donald J. Trump,” campaign spokesman Brian Hughes said in a statement.

The RNC convention runs from July 15 to 18; the nominee will be confirmed at that time.
