Texas Senator Ted Cruz spoke with Fox News host Sean Hannity Thursday night about, what Cruz is calling, the “travesty of justice” carried out by Democrats and Judge Juan Merchan in former President Donald Trump’s New York City criminal trial.
“What we saw today as an absolute travesty of justice. This was not law. This was not criminal justice. This was politics. This was a political smear job. This was a political attack job,” Cruz said.
“I’m furious for what we saw but I’m also heartbroken for our justice system” Cruz continued.
“There was not one out of twelve who stood up and said ‘this is garbage. This is election interference. These are lies. This is a kangaroo court,'” Cruz said.
“The chances this decision is overturned on appeal are 100%,” Cruz added. “This will be overturned and by the way, this judge knows it will be overturned.”
“The objective today was to get the two words we saw the Biden White House say in their press release today: convicted felon.”
