NOT 'FEIN': Two-Thirds of Cali Voters Say They Want to Ditch Dianne, No Longer Fit; Poll

Even Californians think Dianne should pack it in.

According to a recent poll from UC Berkeley’s Institute of Governmental Studies, more than two-thirds of voters in California say Senator Dianne Feinstein is longer fit for office: 67%.

From Fox News:

The poll, conducted by UC Berkeley’s Institute of Governmental Studies, found that 67% of California registered voters believe that Feinstein’s latest illness has rendered her unfit for office. That opinion does not universally translate into support for her resignation, however, with only 42% saying she should step down.

Another 27% stated that Feinstein should continue to serve in the Senate until the end of her term, while 31% said they were undecided.

The 67% of voters reported that they agreed with the statement, “Feinstein’s latest illness underlines the fact that she is no longer fit to continue serving in the U.S. Senate.”

UC Berkeley conducted the poll from May 17 to 22, surveying 7,465 California registered voters. Emails were sent out randomly to the state’s voter list containing an invitation to take a non-partisan online survey. The emails and survey were available in both English and Spanish.

Meanwhile, a photographer from the Los Angeles Times says staffers on the Hill have been going to extremes to protect Feinstein, downplaying her health problems.

“I photographed the senator as a staff member tried to hide her wheelchair behind a pillar at a low-profile exit last week. A Capitol Police officer shouted at me to move back — despite already being 30 feet away from the senator. Feinstein waved as she was escorted to a waiting vehicle,” photographer Kent Nishimura wrote.

“For two days in a row last week, the Senate sergeant-at-arms office has said her arrival at the Capitol ‘is closed press,’ shutting doors and using the Capitol police to chase journalists out of hallways and public spaces. This unprecedented act of restricting press freedom only raises more questions,” he added.
