President Donald Trump said Wednesday he is preparing possible new strikes on Iranian infrastructure after accusing Tehran of dragging out peace negotiations and escalating attacks across the region.
In a phone call with Fox News, Trump said he is “getting close to ordering new strikes against Iranian power plants and bridges” as tensions between Washington and Tehran spiral following the downing of a US Apache helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz earlier this week.
The president also accused Iran of “tapping the United States alone when it comes to the negotiating process,” signaling growing frustration inside the White House over stalled diplomatic efforts.
The remarks came hours after Trump blasted Iran in a fiery Truth Social post warning the regime it would “have to pay the price” for taking “too long” to negotiate a settlement.
“They’ve taken too long to negotiate a deal that would have been great for them, now they will have to pay the price!!!” Trump wrote Wednesday morning.
Trump also declared Iran’s military apparatus was in ruins following months of sustained conflict.
“Iran’s Military is a complete and total mess. Much of it, like their Navy and Air Force, doesn’t even exist anymore – They have been completely defeated. Iran is all talk and no action. The Bully of the Middle East is DEAD!!!” the president added.

The latest threats follow Tuesday evening’s US “self-defense strikes” against Iranian targets after Tehran allegedly shot down the American helicopter near one of the world’s most strategically important shipping lanes.
Iran answered Wednesday morning with a wave of drone and missile attacks targeting military installations in Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait, widening fears that the conflict could spread further across the Middle East.
