COMMITTEE FLOP: Poll Shows Trump More Popular Since Jan 6, Don Rips 'Absolutely Awful' Hearing Ratings

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.13.22

The House select committee investigating the January 6 attack on the US Capitol might be regretting its decision to go all-in on this prime-time circus —ratings for last week’s hearing we’re weaker than expected and all the media attention seems to be emboldening former President Donald Trump’s base.

According to CNN and a recent NBC News poll, “A majority of Americans (55%) now believe that Trump was either not or only partially responsible for the rioters who overtook the Capitol…That’s up from 47% in January 2021.”

The less they turn up, the more Trump’s standing improves.

Additionally, the ratings weren’t great —and 45 absolutely blasted the Committee on TRUTH Social.

“The T.V. Ratings for the January 6th Unselect Committee were absolutely awful,” Trump wrote on TRUTH on Sunday. “Perhaps the reason is that it is being ‘sponsored’ by Adam ‘Shifty’ Schitt and the same people that brought you the Russia, Russia, Russia HOAX…” Trump added.

From Just The News

An estimated 20 million people watched the Jan. 6 committee hearing Thursday, Nielsen ratings agency observed, per Reuters. By comparison, 38 million people tuned in to President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address in March.

However, some Americans seem to have changed the channel to Fox News rather than the hearing, as the network saw a slight bump in viewership during the congressional hearing, according to The Wrap.
