Far-left Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal ripped Democrat Senator Joe Manchin Tuesday after he effectively killed the ‘Build Back Better’ proposal; accusing the moderate of “changing his position all the time.”
“The only thing we have to trust around here is our word. And it’s unfortunate that it seems we can’t trust Sen. Manchin’s word. […] I don’t see how we can negotiate with somebody who changes their position all the time and whose word you cannot rely on,” said Congresswoman Jayapal.

Despite the fiery rhetoric, Joe Manchin has been consistent in his approach to the massive spending package since its introduction earlier this year.
“As I have said for months, I can’t support $3.5 trillion more in spending when we have already spent $5.4 trillion since last March. At some point, all of us, regardless of party must ask the simple question – how much is enough?” said Manchin in September.
“I didn’t think any of this was needed at this time. I thought the infrastructure bill was really what was needed,” he claimed in October.
“To be clear, I will not support the reconciliation legislation without knowing how the bill would impact our debt and our economy,” he said in November.
