Flashback to 2018, when then-Sen. Kamala Harris was out there pounding the table for paper ballots as the only way to keep elections safe from foreign hackers.
In this resurfaced clip, the California Democrat gestures wildly and declares paper ballots “one of the smartest systems” to vote — because, as she put it with a smirk, “Russia can’t hack a piece of paper.”
She was even teaming up with Republicans on a bill to force upgrades and hand-marked ballots amid post-2016 interference fears.
Fast-forward to today, and the same Democrats who once preached paper-ballot purity are now the loudest voices screaming that any push for basic election safeguards is “voter suppression” or worse.
