A new poll conducted by YouGov released this week reveals seven in 10 millennials would consider voting for a “socialist” in an American election.
“Seventy percent of millennials in a new poll say that they are somewhat or extremely like to vote for a socialist candidate,” reports The Hill. “The YouGov–Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation poll released on Monday also found that 50 percent of millennials, defined as between the ages of 23 and 38, and 51 percent of Generation Z, or those ages 16 to 22, have a somewhat or very unfavorable view of capitalism, an increase of 8 and 6 percentage points, respectively, from last year.”
“Only 44 percent of Generation X, 33 percent of baby boomers and 33 percent of the silent generation said they were somewhat or extremely likely to vote for a socialist candidate,” adds the website.

YOUTH REVOLT: Enrollment in Socialist Party UP 280% on COLLEGE CAMPUSES
New data released by the Young Democratic Socialists of America reveals enrollment on college campuses across the United States is up a staggering 280% since 2016; suggesting the nation’s youth may be lurching left ahead of the 2018 midterm elections.
According to the Daily Caller, the YDSA announced the stunning gains on the heels of New York Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez surprise victory over ten-term incumbent Joe Crowley.
“Democratic National Chairman Tom Perez recently called Democratic Socialist congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez the ‘future of the party.’ Perez’s prediction may be correct as the number of a Democratic Socialist club on college campuses has skyrocketed since 2016,” writes the DC.
“When we originally launched the YDSA fall campus drive, we set the bold target of 100 campuses across the country. Currently, we’ve received over 250 campuses register for the fall drive! This explosion in interest shows that this semester will be the biggest ever for YDSA. We will be able to build a mass movement for democratic socialism and justice at campuses across the country,” said a spokesman for the organization.
