Vice President J.D. Vance blasted Senate Democrats on Thursday for questioning Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., calling their attacks hypocritical.

During a Senate Finance Committee hearing, several Democrats demanded Kennedy resign or be fired. Vance countered that many of the same lawmakers support gender-transition procedures for minors.

“When I see all these senators trying to lecture and ‘gotcha’ Bobby Kennedy today, all I can think is: You all support off-label, untested, and irreversible hormonal ‘therapies’ for children, mutilating our kids and enriching big pharma. You’re full of shit and everyone knows it,” Vance posted on X.

His comments came as Daily Caller News Foundation investigative reporter Megan Brock released footage and more than 100 pages of documents from the World Professional Association of Transgender Health’s September 2022 Global Education Institute. Some WPATH members were recorded questioning the group’s latest “Standards of Care,” while instructors in the videos urged doctors to bypass guidelines requiring mental health conditions be addressed before initiating transition procedures, even in patients with schizophrenia.

Other clips detailed severe surgical complications, and one doctor admitted in October 2024 to suppressing a study critical of the procedures, fearing it would bolster restrictions.

The Supreme Court in June upheld SB1, Tennessee’s 2023 law limiting child sex-change procedures, in a 6–3 decision.

Kennedy had multiple contentious exchanges during Thursday’s hearing, at one point accusing Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts of taking major contributions from pharmaceutical companies.

“I never promised that I was going to recommend products with which there is no indication,” Kennedy told Warren. “And I know you’ve taken $855,000 from pharmaceutical companies, senator.”
