The state-run legacy media mob is at it again…
Whenever a natural disaster strikes under a Republican president, the corporate media instinctively reaches for the blame baton.
Sure enough, after the devastating July 4th weekend floods in Texas, the usual suspects sprang into action — CNN, ABC, CBS — scrambling to Google which Trump-era policy they could plausibly hang the tragedy on.
But here’s the inconvenient truth:
According to the National Weather Service, both its Austin and San Antonio offices had “adequate staffing and resources” ahead of the storm. On the afternoon of July 3, they issued a flood watch. An hour later came a rain warning. And just past midnight, in the early hours of July 4, a flash flood warning went out to 30,000 residents.
No one at the federal or state level has claimed they were underfunded, understaffed, or ill-equipped to respond. Yet that didn’t stop pundits from implying that budget cuts from the Trump administration somehow left Texans vulnerable.
To their credit, most outlets walked back the narrative once the facts were out. Most, but not all.
CNN, whose anchors had been pointing fingers with theatrical gusto, clung to its storyline. Even after the NWS debunked the claim, CNN continued to hint—sans evidence—that Trump and perhaps even DOGE might still be to blame.
Because when the facts don’t fit the frame, CNN just squints harder.

Media Malpractice! This Week’s Lies & Misdeeds!
1. The leftist media blame the Texas flooding on President Trump
Despite the National Weather Service denying it themselves, the media were quick to blame DOGE cuts for the flood deaths in Texas.
