President Biden spoke for just over an hour at last night’s State of the Union address —but he didn’t say all that much. Prominent GOP members hit Biden for pushing platitudes and bumper sticker slogans, while omitting important issues —like the 13 U.S service members lost in the Afghanistan withdrawal.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) shared his thoughts on Twitter, emphasizing that the service members lost in the botched withdrawal deserved to be recognized by the President.
“To the 13 American families who lost loved ones in Afghanistan in August, you deserved to be recognized by the President tonight. Americans remember your sacrifice, and we are forever indebted to you,” McCarthy tweeted.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) shared a Tweet from RNC Research that showed White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki explaining that Biden didn’t have time to discuss everything.
“Psaki says Biden didn’t “have the time” to mention certain topics last night. Biden couldn’t make time to mention our 13 service members killed in Afghanistan?”

This isn’t the first time the American people felt Biden disrespected the 13 troops that were killed in Afghanistan. Biden was also blasted for looking at his watch while honoring the fallen troops last year.
If you are offended that someone yelled "13" at the #SOTU22 but ignored Biden getting the #Afghanistan13 killed then looking at his watch in the presence their flag draped coffins, you are an absolute puke. #StayTheirNames #NeverForget pic.twitter.com/sp8x1vt3Va
