While speaking with Fox News’ Bret Baier this week, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was confronted with a shocking statistic from border patrol sources: more than 70% of migrants encountered at the southern border are released into the U.S.
Only, Mayorkas wasn’t shocked at all by the high percentage of migrants released.
“Would it surprise you to hear that CBP sources say that currently, they are releasing more than 70% of the migrants crossing every day — and sometimes more?” Baier asked Mayorkas.
“It would not surprise me at all. I know the data,” Mayrokas says.
More than 8 million migrant encounters have been logged since Joe Biden took office. Last month set a new CBP record with more than 300,000 migrant encounters logged at the southern border.
