This week, heads of America’s largest banks —including JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Citigroup —gathered on Capitol Hill for two days of testimony on a host of hot-button issues. The execs faced questions on energy, emissions, fees, economic downturn, and more.
One of the more memorable parts of the hearing —Louisiana Senator Kennedy’s warning about wokeness.
“You will never win the uber-woke sweepstakes. I. understand that the pressure to run that race is fierce. You will never win it. Nothing you do will ever be enough. The uber-woke people in positions of power in this town think America was evil when it was founded and it’s even more evil today,” Kennedy said.
“I don’t like to talk about the expensive places I’ve been. But last night, I was at the grocery store,” Kennedy said to laughs. “Inflation is gutting the American people like a fish.”
