WHO'S PAYING, KAMALA? Veep Dodges Questions on Student Loan Handout, Serves Up Word Salad

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.29.22

Another clumsy dodge from the Veep.

According to a report from Fox News, Vice President Kamala Harris, when pressed about who would foot the bill for Biden’s big student loan handout, could only serve up some not-so-delicious word salad.

Harris was making an appearance at the now-canceled Artemis 1 launch when one reporter confronted her with the fact the White House hasn’t been transparent on where the money will come from.

“Well, let’s start with this. First of all, a lot of the same people who are criticizing what we rightly did in following through on a commitment that we made to forgive student loan debt, are the same people who voted for a tax cut for the richest Americans,” Harris said.

“So when we look at who is benefiting from this, 90% of the people who are going to benefit from student loan forgiveness make under $75,000 a year,” the vice president continued. “And that debt has been the reason that they’re unable to start a family, buy a home and pursue their piece of the American dream.”

More from Fox News:

Harris, who was making an appearance for the Artemis 1 launch, which ended up being postponed, then fielded a question from another reporter about a space-related issue.

President Biden’s plan is to hand out $10,000 in federal student loans for anyone making under $125,000, or $250,000 for married couples. The number goes up to $20,000 of debt for Pell Grant recipients. Some estimates calculate the cost of the program to be upwards of $500 billion.

This is Day Six of the White House unable to answer the question: how are you paying for the loan handout?
