Former Vice President Joe Biden confused millions of voters Thursday following a speech in Florida; telling supporters he won’t “shut down the country” after vowing to “shut down the country” if recommended by scientists just months ago.
“I’m not going to shut down the economy. I’m not going to shut down the country!” said Biden on the campaign trail.
“Would you be prepared to shut this country down again?” asked David Muir earlier this year.
“I would be prepared to whatever is necessary to save people’s lives… In order to keep the country running… you have to fix the virus,” said the Vice President. “I would shut it down, I would listen to the scientists.”

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders suspended his presidential campaign Wednesday; clearing the path for the Democratic nomination of former Vice President Joe Biden to take on Donald Trump this November.
“Sanders was unable to build on his early momentum in the race after wins in New Hampshire and Nevada as well as virtual tie in Iowa, going on to lose a string of states to Biden after the former vice president consolidated the support of moderate Democrats,” reports the Hill.
