A 21-year-old illegal immigrant from India, released into the U.S. by the Biden administration, is accused of causing a horrific semi-truck crash that killed three people in Southern California, federal law enforcement sources tell Fox News.

The suspect, Jashanpreet Singh, first crossed the southern border in March 2022 and was released by Border Patrol in California’s El Centro Sector under Biden’s “alternatives to detention” policy — a program that’s already linked to multiple crimes committed by migrants awaiting hearings.

Now, Singh is behind bars for gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated after slamming his big rig into slow-moving traffic on the I-10 Freeway in San Bernardino County.

The dashcam video is chilling: Singh never hit the brakes. Police say toxicology tests confirmed he was impaired.

At least three people are dead and several more injured.

DHS sources confirm Singh has no lawful immigration status and that ICE has lodged a detainer following his arrest.

The tragedy highlights a growing pattern. Another illegal immigrant truck driver, Harjinder Singh, who crossed the border in 2018, also caused a deadly crash in Fort Pierce, Florida, this August — killing three after failing English and road sign tests.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy blasted California for ignoring federal safety rules.

“I put states on notice this summer: enforce the Trump Administration’s English language requirements or the checks stop coming,” Duffy said. “California is the only state in the nation that refuses to ensure big rig drivers can read our road signs and communicate with law enforcement. This is a fundamental safety issue that impacts you and your family on America’s road.”
