While speaking to the press aboard Air Force One this week, President Trump confirmed he has not spoken with Governor Tim Walz since the political assassinations in Minnesota.
“I think the Governor of Minnesota is so whacked out, I’m not calling him,” Trump said.
“Why would I call him? I could call and say, ‘Hi, how you doing?’ The guy doesn’t have a clue,” Trump said, referring to Walz.
“He’s a mess. So I could be nice and call, but why waste time?”

On Saturday, former state House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, were shot and killed in what Governor Tim Walz called a “politically motivated assassination.”
State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife were also seriously injured in the same attack.
Authorities arrested 57-year-old Vance Boelter on Sunday after a two-day manhunt. He faces six charges, including murder, stalking, and firearms offenses, according to court documents.
Walz, a frequent critic of Trump since the beginning of his second term, noted the lack of outreach. Traditionally, presidents have offered support to state and local leaders following acts of political violence, regardless of party.
