The Governor of Oregon flat-out refused to send her National Guard troops to the US-Mexico border Thursday, saying she would simply “say no” if President Trump asked to deploy troops stationed in her state.
Democratic Oregon Governor Kate Brown publicly bucked the Trump administration’s recent announcement that the White House plans to deploy the US National Guard to the southern border; saying the troops will remain until “proper” security could be enforced.
“If @realDonaldTrump asks me to deploy Oregon Guard troops to the Mexico border, I’ll say no. As Commander of Oregon’s Guard, I’m deeply troubled by Trump’s plan to militarize our border,” she posted on social media.
“There’s been no outreach by the President or federal officials, and I have no intention of allowing Oregon’s guard troops to be used to distract from his troubles in Washington,” she added.

MILITARY TO BORDER: Trump to DEPLOY US TROOPS to Protect Southern Border
President Trump announced Tuesday his plans to deploy the American military to the United States’ southern border with Mexico; telling reporters “we’re going to be guarding our border with the military” until the US has a proper border wall.
The President was speaking with reporters at the White House when he unveiled his response to the crisis sweeping across the US border, threatening to scrap America’s free-trade deal with Mexico if they refuse to cooperate.
“We have very bad laws for our border. We’re going to be doing some things. I spoke with General Mattis, we’re going to be doing things with the military. Until we have a wall and proper security, we’re going to be guarding our border with the military,” said the Commander-in-Chief.
“It’s a big step, we certainly haven’t done that before. We will be doing things with Mexico and they have to do it, otherwise I’m not going to do the NAFTA deal. NAFTA’s been fantastic for Mexico and bad for us,” he added.

CALIFORNIA CHAOS: Over 1 MILLION Illegal Immigrants Granted DRIVER’S LICENSES
The State of California has issued at least one million driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants, the Department of Motor Vehicles announced Wednesday; raising new questions over the Golden State’s role in luring undocumented workers to the region.
According to the Sacramento Bee, California was forced to issue the identification cards following the passage of Assembly Bill 60 in 2013; demanding state officials hand out driver’s licenses to anyone who can prove they “reside” in the state, regardless of immigration status.
The law took effect starting in 2015.
“Immigrants are getting tested, licensed and insured and this is making our roads safer for everyone,” said the author behind the bill. “Today, we see the law working the way it was intended to and has dramatically improved the lives of a million immigrants and their families.”
California isn’t the only state in the union to issue licenses to illegal immigrants. Twelve states, Washington, DC, and Puerto Rico also issue identification cards to undocumented workers.
The DMV’s announcement comes as President Trump plans to deploy the US military to the southern border of the United States; saying troops will remain in the region until a border wall is “properly” built.
