'WE JUST WENT OFF OUR HEART': Hero Brothers Save Atlanta Officer From Burning Police Car [WATCH]

Atlanta erupted in flames and flying bullets — and a few brave neighbors didn’t blink.

Heart-pounding bodycam footage shows the instant good Samaritans tore into a burning patrol car to save Atlanta Police Officer Malik Safi, even as heat from the inferno set off his own gun, sending rounds cracking through the night.

Safi was racing to help a fellow cop around 10:22 p.m. on Oct. 20 when he lost control, slammed into a house, and his cruiser exploded into a fireball.

That’s when brothers Ryan Beck and Kashun Robinson, alongside other neighbors, sprinted straight toward the flames — and the gunfire.

“We just went off our heart,” Beck said. “Like we were raised. We don’t want to see nobody suffering in that type of situation. So we just hopped out and sprung into action.”

Robinson said they stayed with the injured officer, comforting him as ammo popped off behind them.

“One of his guns in the car actually started going off. We put him out of the yard and onto the sidewalk, and everybody was just ducked behind the trees and everything.”

One of the rescuers grabbed Safi’s radio and made the call every cop dreads: “We have an officer down… Officer S-A-F-I. On North Avenue. Yeah, hurry up. He’s been in a wreck. His leg is broken.”

Paramedics swarmed the scene and rushed Safi to the hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
