Tears, cheers, and a phone call to the peacemaker.
Family members of hostages held by Hamas celebrated the acceptance of President Donald Trump’s peace plan by calling the president personally to thank him for securing the release of the remaining 48 captives.
The emotional call, captured on video by the Hostages and Missing Families Forum (HMFF), showed relatives gathered Wednesday night with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick when they connected with Trump for a brief conversation.
The moment the president answered, the room erupted in applause and gratitude.
“Thank you!” several shouted.
“You did it!” one exclaimed.
“This is amazing!” another added.
One man thanked Trump for his long-standing support of Israel.
“Mr. President, we believe in you. We know you’ve done so much for us… since you became president. Even before that. And we trust you’ll fulfill the mission until every one of the 48 hostages is home. Thank you so much. Blessed be the peacemakers.”
Another voice joined in:
“God bless you, Mr. President. God bless America.”
Before ending the call, Trump told the group that all hostages would be returned on Monday — drawing cheers, applause, and tears from families who had waited two years for the words they never thought they’d hear.
