A riot broke out in Union Square Park in New York City on Friday after an influencer’s plan to giveaway a Playstation 5 went south.
From The New York Post:
Twitch gamer Kai Cenat scheduled the real-world meet-up at 3:30 p.m. and planned to give away PS5s, computers, microphones and other gaming accessories.
But within a half-hour, the crowd of nearly 1,000 kids broke down into chaos with the attendees tossing cones and brawling.
Videos online capture the kids screaming and climbing on what appear to be vehicles.
The NYPD’s riot squad was called to the park.
Police sources described it as a “full-on riot.”
