It’s really very simple…
Vice President JD Vance discussed President Trump’s effort to make peace between Russia and Ukraine while speaking at the Munich Leaders Meeting in Washington D.C. this week.
Vance stressed Trump has a “genuine humanitarian impulse” to stop the bloodshed and that the administration has been dealing with “frustrations” from both sides.
“I understand that people don’t fight wars against each other without a lot of grievance and a lot of problems, but we’re trying to do the best we can to play a constructive role in advancing the peace conversation forward,” Vance said.
“Our strong view is that the continuation of this conflict is bad for us, it’s bad for Europe, it’s bad for Russian, and it’s bad for Ukraine. We think if cool heads prevail here, we can bring this thing to a durable peace that will be economically beneficial to the Ukrainians and the Russians and most importantly will stop the destruction of human lives,” Vance said.
“[President Trump] hates innocent people losing their lives,” Vance said. “He hates even soldiers losing their lives in unnecessary conflicts. He just wants the killing to stop.”
