**UPDATE**
One of the New York City teens wanted in connection with Saturday’s brutal assault of an FDNY firefighter was arrested early Thursday, the NYPD officials confirmed to Fox News.
“Damir Johnson, 17, was charged with one count of second-degree assault after police identified him as a member of the group that assaulted the firefighter, leaving that man with several broken teeth and a concussion. Cops released an image on Wednesday of the six suspects, but they didn’t immediately identify which of the teens in the picture was Johnson,” reports Fox News.

“A New York City Firefighter sustained a concussion and several broken teeth Saturday after police say he was assaulted while trying to stop a group of teens from harassing an elderly couple,” reports Fox News.
“The 38-year-old off-duty firefighter was traveling on East 86th St. in Manhattan at around 9:25 a.m. Saturday when he noticed six teens ‘harassing’ an elderly couple,” a spokesperson with the New York City Police Department told Fox News.
The vicious attack comes just days after a string of anti-Semitic assaults swept Brooklyn.
“Just received a report that a Hasidic father & son were beaten up in Williamsburg this past Friday night for no other reason than being Jewish. Police report has been filed. Here’s footage of the four violent suspects behind the attack – help @NYPDDetectives find them!” posted Dov Hikind, a former NY Assemblyman from Brooklyn.

“It’s shocking but not surprising that such violent hate crimes are being committed against Jews (yesterday in Bklyn) just as antisemitism is being mainstreamed. This attack resembles Nazi Germany where antisemites attacked Jews with glee. We won’t tolerate it!” he added.

The largest single spike in antisemitic hate crimes across the country is in NYC (72%) – and yet the media reports very little on it? Why? Sadly they don’t because in these cases it’s not a white supremacist doing the attacking and that doesn’t fit their narrative.

NYPD TERROR CHIEF: Sri Lanka Easter Bombings Could Signal ‘Resurgence of al Qaeda’
NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Counterterrorism weighed-in Monday on the series of deadly bombings that rocked Sri Lanka over the Easter weekend; saying the attacks could signify the “resurgence of al Qaeda” in the region.
"What you’re looking at is the kind of operation that would take a great deal of organization, a good deal of funding, and more importantly, a fairly large number of people for your average terrorist plot." — NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence & @NYPDCT John Miller pic.twitter.com/A2AaxvL4Kz

“What we heard, we didn’t like. Which was a complex, multi-location attack that was very well organized. And then making sure we put the pieces into place here against any similar targets,” Miller said.
“Number one, is this the resurgence of Al Qaeda, which has been expanding its network to pick up these affiliates? Because it is certainly more their style. Number two: Is this an ISIS-influenced group? When ISIS has gone from being a caliphate, gone from being an infantry, and now remains solely as a terrorist group. And number three: Is this a local group that has grown in sophistication and complexity,” Miller added.
