During an appearance onĀ Face The NationĀ this weekend, veteran CBS reporter Jan Crawford called out the media mob for underreporting Joe Biden’s obvious cognitive decline while in the Oval Office.
Crawford, the networkās chief legal correspondent, suggested that if Biden faced more scrutiny over his mental health sooner, the outcry may have triggered a primary and changed the course of the election.
The soundbite came up when Crawford was asked about the most underreported story of 2024.
āUndercovered and underreported, that would be, to me, Joe Bidenās obvious cognitive decline that became undeniable in the televised debate,ā she said on the Sunday morning show.
Crawford pointed to recent pieces on Biden’s decline ā like the explosiveĀ Wall Street Journal piece ā that revealed the extent to which Biden’s handlers hid his obvious mental health struggles and deficiencies.
āAnd yet he insisted that he could still run for president. We should have much more forcefully questioned whether he was fit for office for another four years, which could have led to a primary for the Democrats,ā Crawford said.
āIt could have changed the scope of the entire election,ā Crawford continued.
āYet still, incredibly, we read in the Washington Post that his advisers are saying that he regrets that he dropped out of the race, that he thinks he could have beaten Trump,ā Crawford said of Biden and his staffers.
āAnd I think that is either delusional or theyāre gaslighting the American people.ā
