While addressing the North America’s Building Trades Union conference at the Washington Hilton on Tuesday, President Joe Biden went into a bizarre story about his ‘grandpop’ —and was immediately called out for lying by the GOP.
“My grandpop — who I never met, died in the same hospital I was born in two weeks before I was born,” Biden said.
This is a lie.
Biden’s “grandpop” died in Baltimore, Maryland in September 1941 — and Joe Biden wasn’t born until November 1942 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, according to the official Twitter account RNC Research.

Biden announced his re-election bid earlier Tuesday, saying “Every generation has a moment where they have had to stand up for democracy. To stand up for their fundamental freedoms. I believe this is ours. That’s why I’m running for reelection as President of the United States. Join us. Let’s finish the job.”
