UH 'O': Democrats Worried About Gubernatorial Contests in NJ and VA, Bring In Obama for Rallies

posted by Hannity Staff - 10.21.25

When Obama’s flying in, Democrats are sweating.

With just two weeks until Election Day in New Jersey and Virginia, Democrats are dusting off their old playbook — bringing in Barack Obama to try and bail them out.

The former president will headline rallies in both states on Nov. 1, a last-ditch effort to revive enthusiasm in two razor-tight governor’s races that could deal another blow to Biden’s broken party.

For Democrats, these races are about survival. After losing the White House, the Senate majority, and failing to retake the House, they’re desperate for a win — and hoping Obama’s charisma can mask their crumbling coalition.

But the visit also reeks of self-interest. Obama’s signature law, Obamacare, is back under fire as the federal shutdown fight puts its rising costs front and center. His campaign swing is as much about protecting his legacy as it is about saving fellow Democrats.

New Jersey Democrat Mikie Sherrill gushed, “President Obama reminds us what we can accomplish when leaders are unafraid to take on big challenges.” She also tried to tie GOP nominee Jack Ciattarelli to Trump, claiming, “The contrast couldn’t be clearer. Jack Ciattarelli is supporting Trump’s attacks on New Jersey.”

But Ciattarelli’s campaign fired back hard. “National and New Jersey Democrats are in full-blown panic,” strategist Chris Russell told Fox News Digital. “At this point, we expect them to import anyone they think can excite Democrats because Mikie Sherrill excites no one.”

Meanwhile in Virginia, Abigail Spanberger is clinging to Obama’s coattails as she battles Republican Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears — a rising GOP star known for her no-nonsense conservative style.

Obama claimed, “Republican policies are raising costs on working families so billionaires can get massive tax cuts.” But voters aren’t buying the spin.

Virginia’s GOP momentum under Governor Glenn Youngkin has energized the state’s base — and Republicans see a real shot at keeping the governor’s mansion red.
