Elon Musk is taking Twitter in a brand new direction.
According to a report from The Dialy Wire, Head Twit Elon Musk is planning to massively overhaul the social media platform; he’s changing its name, its logo, and the future of the entire company.
“It’s an exceptionally rare thing – in life or in business – that you get a second chance to make another big impression. Twitter made one massive impression and changed the way we communicate,” Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino wrote on the site. “Now, X will go further, transforming the global town square.”

“X is the future state of unlimited interactivity – centered in audio, video, messaging, payments/banking – creating a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities,” she continued. “Powered by AI, X will connect us all in ways we’re just beginning to imagine.”
Musk hinted at the transformation in a tweet late last week.
“And soon we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds,” Musk said.

Twitter appears to be fending off a challenge from Mark Zuckewrbergs “Threads” platform which many consider to be redundant to Twitter.

When Meta introduced its new social media site “Threads” to compete with Twitter, supporters dubbed it the “Twitter Killer.” Now, Threads is on life support as usage of the new platform is plummeting.
On Friday, The Wall Street Journal reported Thread’s daily user engagement is around 13 million members. That’s down nearly 70% from its July 7 peak. Furthermore, iOS and Android app users are spending on average just four minutes per day on Threads. For comparison, the report said Twitter’s daily users hover around 200 million, with the average time spent on the app around 30 minutes per day, per web analytics firm SimilarWeb.
