Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard discussed the creation of a new task force to promote transparency and accountability within the intelligence community during Wednesday night’s Hannity.
Gabbard says the nation’s trust in the intelligence community has eroded, and she hopes to reach maximum transparency to restore trust with Americans.
Releasing the JFK, MLK, and RFK files is just the beginning.
“There have been intelligence failures, abuses of power, weaponization and politicization of the intelligence that the community provides,” Gabbard admitted, adding the people feel disgusted and betrayed.
“It’s not just as simple as saying, ‘Go and find these documents. We’ll declassify and release them tomorrow.’ As you can imagine, the more we dig, the more we find. And we see how people are resistant to providing documents — or, in some cases, they’ve been hidden in hopes no one will find them.”
