President Trump pushed back against Chuck Schumer’s recent announcement that a border wall was “off the table” during immigration negotiations with the GOP, saying there can be no deal on DACA without constructing a physical barrier along the US-Mexico border.
The Commander-in-Chief called out “Cryin’ Chuck Schumer” on social media Tuesday night, blasting the Senate Minority Leader over his failed government shutdown and warning the Democratic that there can be no immigration deal without his signature “border wall.”
“Cryin’ Chuck Schumer fully understands, especially after his humiliating defeat, that if there is no Wall, there is no DACA. We must have safety and security, together with a strong Military, for our great people!” Trump tweeted.

The President’s comments come just hours after Schumer publicly announced he was “removing” the border wall from any negotiations aimed at reaching a deal on DACA before the February deadline.
Schumer’s top aide told Fox News this week the Senate Minority Leader “withdrew” his initial offer made to the President a day before the federal government shutdown, which reportedly included a “boost” for border security, including the wall.
SCHUMER BACKS DOWN: Chuck Schumer CAVES, ENDS Government Shutdown
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer announced on the Senate floor Monday his plans to end the Democratic filibuster over a short-term federal funding bill, effectively reopening the national government following a three-day shutdown.
Sources familiar with the new agreement say Democrats secured a verbal commitment from Majority Leader Mitch McConnell there will be an upcoming up-or-down vote on DACA and other immigration reform issues.
“I don’t think this is the right way to get policy outcomes is to shut the government down. When we tried it, it didn’t work well for us,” said GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham with colleagues Susan Collins and Jeff Flake.
“Here’s what I predict. Once we start talking about immigration and voting on immigration, we’ll find 60 votes to make sure these DACA recipients’ lives are not ruined by March 5,” he added.
President Trump and Republican leadership routinely labeled the short-term government closure the “Schumer Shutdown” over the Minority Leader’s insistence that DACA legislation be included in a federal spending bill.
“The Democrats are turning down services and security for citizens in favor of services and security for non-citizens. Not good!” tweeted the President earlier Monday.
SCHUMER MELTDOWN: Chuck GOES NUCLEAR on Senate Floor as GOP Passes Tax Cuts
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer threw a public temper tantrum from the floor of the US Capitol on Tuesday night, scolding his GOP colleagues who were quietly speaking while the liberal legislator railed against the Republican tax legislation.
The lawmaker was desperately attempting to sway Senators from voting “yes” on the tax proposal, erroneously claiming that “millions” of middle class families would see a “tax hike” under the current bill.
Schumer paused mid-sentence before unloading on GOP Senators, calling for order as his colleagues quietly negotiated in the chamber.
“Nearly 145 million middle class families under $200k will either get tax hikes… Can we have order Mr. President?” raged Schumer.
“This is serious stuff! We believe you’re messing up America. You could pay attention for a couple of minutes,” he scolded his GOP colleagues.
