President Trump “welcomed” former Vice President Joe Biden to the 2020 race for the White House Thursday; warning the top Obama official of a “nasty” primary full of “sick and demented ideas” from fellow Democratic candidates.
“Welcome to the race Sleepy Joe. I only hope you have the intelligence, long in doubt, to wage a successful primary campaign. It will be nasty – you will be dealing with people who truly have some very sick & demented ideas. But if you make it, I will see you at the Starting Gate!” posted the President on social media.

BIDEN STEPS IN: The Former Vice President Announces His Third Run for the White House
Former Vice President Joe Biden announced his third-run for the White House Thursday; ending months of speculation over whether the top Obama official would make another bid for the Oval Office.
“In that moment, I knew the threat to this nation was unlike any I’d seen in my lifetime,” Biden said, adding “history will look back on four years of this president and all he embraces as an aberrant moment in time.”
The core values of this nation… our standing in the world… our very democracy…everything that has made America — America –is at stake. That’s why today I’m announcing my candidacy for President of the United States. #Joe2020 https://t.co/jzaQbyTEz3

BIDEN REBUKED: AOC Says Biden Presidency Would be ‘Going Back,’ Vows ‘To Go Forward’
Democratic superstar Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez refused to back former Vice President Joe Biden’s potential presidential run over the weekend; saying the top Obama aide’s win would be “going back” while she hopes to “move forward.”
Ocasio-Cortez was speaking with Yahoo News podcast ‘Skullduggery’ Sunday when she was asked to comment on Biden’s long-rumored White House bid.
That does not particularly animate right now,” said the Congresswoman.
“I can understand why people would be excited by that, this idea that we can go back to the good old days with Obama, with Obama’s vice president. There’s an emotional element to that, but I don’t want to go back. I want to go forward,” she added.
Recent Democrat polling shows Biden slowly losing momentum among supporters, with Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders taking the top spot in the latest surveys.
