President Donald Trump is escalating pressure on Iran, warning of devastating consequences if Tehran refuses to engage in negotiations — as U.S. forces move closer to one of the world’s most critical oil chokepoints.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Wednesday the president is “prepared to unleash hell” if Iran does not “come to a deal,” delivering one of the administration’s starkest warnings yet.
“If they fail to understand that they have been defeated militarily and will continue to be, President Trump will ensure they are hit harder than they have ever been hit before,” Leavitt told reporters.
“President Trump does not bluff and he is prepared to unleash hell.”
🚨 HOLY CRAP. Karoline Leavitt just dropped this fire line on Iran

The warning comes as thousands of U.S. Marines and additional forces move into position in the region, amid rising concern over the security of the Strait of Hormuz — a narrow passageway through which roughly a fifth of the world’s oil supply flows.
Any disruption there would carry immediate global consequences, particularly for energy markets already rattled by the conflict.
Iran, however, is showing little sign of backing down.
According to multiple reports, Tehran has responded to a U.S.-backed peace proposal — reportedly transmitted through Pakistan — with a counteroffer demanding war reparations and recognition of its authority over the strategic waterway.
At the same time, Iranian officials have publicly disputed U.S. claims that meaningful negotiations are underway, signaling that any agreement remains distant and uncertain.
The escalating rhetoric underscores a widening gap between the administration’s public posture and the reality on the ground.
While Trump has described talks as “productive” in recent days, Iran’s response suggests the sides remain far apart on core demands — including control of regional security and the future of its military posture.
