'THIS IS LUDICROUS': Cruz Blasts Biden's Border After ICE Gives Migrant 2031 Court Date

On Thursday, Fox News’ Bill Melugin shared a news story about a Columbian woman who crossed into Texas from Mexico, was captured and released into the U.S., and was given a 2031 court date by ICE.

“NEW: A Colombian woman who crossed illegally into El Paso, TX & was released into the U.S. was given an ICE check-in date in NYC in 2031. Her immigration attorney, @mkolken, tells me it’s one of the most shocking things he’s seen in his nearly 30 years of immigration law,” Melugin shared on X.

“Kolken tells me his client is a legitimate asylum seeker with what he feels is an air-tight case, but because the system is so backlogged with illegitimate asylum claims, he’s not sure they’ll ever get a chance to argue it in court with her next check in 8 years into the future. “It made me realize the Biden administration is basically providing backdoor amnesty for anyone who wants to show up at the border,” he added.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz weighed in on the story, calling the situation “ludicrous.”

“This is ludicrous. ICE has given an illegal alien an appearance date in 2031. Make no mistake, this is BY DESIGN. President Biden’s open border policy is designed to break America’s immigration system and eventually force amnesty on the American people. There’s no other reason that explains his decision to end the massively successful Remain in Mexico program.”

In the last few weeks, the Biden Administration has twice broken the one-day record for most migrant encounters at the southern border.
