Vice President Kamala Harris continued to blame the Trump administration’s vaccine roll-out operation after a full month in office; saying President Biden had to “start from scratch” despite Dr. Anthony Fauci’s comments that directly contradict her claims.
“You’re coming up on a month inside office. What are you finding is harder about the pandemic? Are you finding the hole is deeper?” asked a reporter from Axios.
“The problem is there was no stockpile of vaccines. There was no national strategy or plan for vaccinations. We were leaving it to the states to figure it out. In many ways, we’re starting from scratch on something that’s been raging for almost an entire year,” said the Vice President.
“Our standard has to be that everything is possible… That’s how I feel about it,” added Harris.
“When are people going to get a vaccine? Is the Biden administration starting from scratch? Or are you picking up where the Trump administration left off?” asked one reporter weeks ago.
“We certainly are not starting from scratch. There is activity going on in the distribution,” said Fauci. “It’s taking what’s going on, but amplifying it.”

FAUCI on MASKS: Two Coverings ‘Would Be More Effective’ in Preventing Spread of Coronavirus
Dr. Anthony Fauci revised his previous comments regarding mask-wearing to prevent the spread of CoVID-19 this week; saying “two coverings would be more effective.”
“Because, I mean, this is a physical covering to prevent droplets and virus to get in,” Fauci told NBC’s Savannah Guthrie on Monday. “So, if you have a physical covering with one layer, you put another layer on — it just makes common sense that it likely would be more effective, and that’s the reason why you see people either double-masking or doing a version of an N95.”
“Just 100 days to mask, not forever, 100 days. And I think we’ll see a significant reduction,” Biden said in December.

DR. FAUCI to REPORTER: ‘Everything I Do is Voluntarily, Please, Don’t Even Imply That’
Presidential Coronavirus Task Force Leader Dr. Fauci called-out a reporter during a White House press briefing Monday; reprimanding the journalist after she questioned whether his comments were made “voluntarily.”
“That was the wrong choice of words… When people discuss, they say maybe this will happen, maybe that, it was a poor choice of words,” said Dr. Fauci.
After Dr. Fauci clarifies his remarks from Sunday about how earlier mitigation efforts would have saved lives, @PaulaReidCBS asks if he's doing so "voluntarily."
